Two fishermen in main are sorting the fresh lobsters that they caught in to seperate bins by size just before they sell them at market.

During the period of the lockdown there was a drastic fall in the consumption of fish products. The economy and the fishing sector suffered a great deal of damage due to the impossibility of fishing and selling.

The consumer mainly bought processed or frozen products, while in normal times, 50% of the consumption was directed to the fresh or packaged product.

Moreover, 55% of Italians who consume fish prefer to eat it in restaurants that have been closed for a long time; considering the new domestic habits it’s hoped to encourage the consumption of local and seasonal fish products.
