All members of the consortium bring high quality expertise and contributions into the project. Representatives of the industries provide insights on the real needs of the sector and academic representatives provide inputs on how to address them. From this encounter, the project intends to design a high-level academy. Moreover, in terms of competencies, all partners commit to work together to provide high quality contents to the courses and practical experiences.


ASSOITTICA ITALIA


Founded in 1986, associates companies operating, in whole or in part, in the seafood chain. The activity concerns the analysis and evaluation of European measures on food safety, commercial transactions and processing, by informing the member companies on the evolution of the regulatory measures. The Association is in contact with the various Ministries (Health, Agriculture, Food and Forestry, Economic Development, etc.), and with the central and peripherals organs of vigilance and control in Italy. Numerous contacts with Embassies and Consulates allow the Association to provide assistance to associated companies regarding import and export procedures for seafood products. Relevant contacts have been kept in the field of national and international scientific research. The Association has established an active interchange relationship with universities and scientific research institutions, representing the problems and demands of the member companies and proposing initiatives aimed at enhancing the fish product. www.assoittica.it

FEDERALIMENTARE SERVIZI


FEDERALIMENTARE SERVIZI is a private company (owned by Federalimentare) which represents, protects and promotes the Italian Food and Beverages Industry, the second-highest-ranking Italian manufacturing sector which accounts for 8% of the national GDP, with an annual turnover of over 137 billion Euro. The 13 Italian trade Associations for each food and drink sector are grouped together under Federalimentare, which represents almost 7,000 companies with more than 9 employees each, located throughout Italy.

IPMA


IPMA is a Public Research Institution devoted to Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences and Technology. IPMA’s mission is the provision of technical and scientific support for the definition of national policy, operating and maintaining scientific infrastructures, data acquisition and processing, maintenance of national scientific databases on its areas of competence, and promotion and coordination of scientific research and technological development in its areas of expertise. These areas include, in general, most of the scientific fields related to ocean, meteorology and climate.

IPMA has been responsible for the national monitoring program for marine biotoxins and toxic phytoplankton during the last three decades. IPMA’s mission also aims to contribute for promotion and support of a sustainable and competitive fishing and aquaculture industries, to contribute for the protection of marine environment, to manage fish stocks to maintain maximum sustainable exploitation and to monitor and upgrade the quality of fishery and aquaculture products, ensuring scientific and technical support for policies defined by the Ministry of the Sea.

CETMAR


CETMAR is a Galician Interest Foundation, was founded in 2001 by the Department do Mar and the Directorate General of I + D + I of the Xunta de Galicia and Ministry of Science and Innovation. The main objective of the Centre is to promote cooperation among institutions, research centers and maritime and fishery sector and encourage the involvement of dependent sectors of the sea in R + D + I and promote the efficiency of all activities related to the use and exploitation of the marine environment. CETMAR actions extend to national, European and international activity to be beneficiaries of all public and private sectors related to the sea and its resources and the marine environment in general.

CONXEMAR


CONXEMAR, is consolidated as an essential instrument in uniting the frozen food sector in Spain. The main objectives are as follows: i)To promote and defend the free market system, as part of the economy; ii) To help improve the competitiveness of our members; ii) To represent and defend the interests of the sector before both private and public government agencies at European, national and regional level; iv) The promotion of all different types of campaigns increasing the consumption of frozen foods and in particular those derived from fishing; v)To achieve a more “business friendly” EU and National Regulation for the sector. The Association organizes the annual International Frozen Seafood exhibition (CONXEMAR) in October in Vigo. As a reference in Europe, the International Frozen Seafood Exhibition (CONXEMAR) serves as the meeting point for the entire processing sector: wholesalers, Importers, Exporters, Transformers, Manufacturers, Distributors, Cold storages, Machinery, Auxiliary Industry (cooling, packaging, plastics, etc.) Our exhibition is consolidated as one of the two most important ones in the world, with a current exhibition area of 31,500 m².

ALIF


The Portuguese Frozen Fish Industrial Association was founded in 1975, represents a total of 45 companies and is the only non-profit association representing in Portugal the frozen fish industry as well as the frozen vegetables, pre-cooked food industry and distribution companies. It defends their companies interests within the Government and its Directorates General, to obtain a more competitive and fair business sector. ALIF has also an important role at the transcription and regulation of the European Law for this sector. ALIF establishes labour conditions with the trade unions, for its associated companies. ALIF is affiliated with the AIPCE - European Fish Processors Association and CEP – European Federation of National Organizations of Importers and Exporters of Fish. The association also develops the functions of Sectorial Standardization Organization, ensuring the activity developed by CT 25 - Technical Commission of Fishery and Aquaculture Products. A revision of the Portuguese Standards that are already obsolete is made and creates key normative documents for the fishery and aquaculture products industry.

UNIVERSITY OF ROME "LA SAPIENZA".


The Department of Law and economics of production activities belongs to the Faculty of Economics of Sapienza University of Rome (Italy). The Department born in 2008 through the merger of the existing department of Private and community law and department of Business administration. Following the strategic plan 2018-2020, this Department confirms a key path started several years ago in the affirmation of a proactive dialogue within all kind of stakeholders (university governance, students, public institutions, private entities, etc.) promoting, developing and managing small, medium and large projects at national and international level and sharing significant best practices in several fields. If on one side, this Department is responsible of a master’s degree in business administration, and several MBA and specialist Courses focused on hottest topics (e.g. Company crisis, customs procedures), on the other side, the research activities and expertise cover all traditional and innovative topics in the field of law and business administration.

The Department of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Production has as its purpose the teaching and research in the fields of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Production and Food Safety. Research at the Department maintains international standards: it is active, open to students and addressed to the territory. The main goals are improving the health and quality of animal life, of breeding systems and food production chain processes with particular regard to food safety. In particular for the AGRIFOOD sector it concerns the development of speculative issues and technologies concerning the production and health of foodstuffs for animals and foodstuffs to man, the rationalization of the supply chain processes using advanced technologies to the environment, to the correct management of herds, animal welfare and the transformation and conservation of herds foodstuffs.

AEIFORIA


AEIFORIA is an academic SME of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (UCSC) of Piacenza (Italy). Founded in 2009, it provides services to agricultural and food companies, industry and companies working with chemical substances and technologies. Furthermore, Aeiforia works in several EU-funded projects mainly on environmental monitoring; environmental and human health exposure modelling; scientific dissemination and stakeholder engagement. Aeiforia has a special focus on the seafood sector being involved in different EU projects to promote a sustainable seafood chain.

In particular, Aeiforia has developed specific expertise in environmental monitoring of sea contaminants in coastal areas and aquacultures facilities; stakeholder engagement activities for market acceptability and policy implications; seafood traceability, labelling and certification; communication and training activities (including e-learning approaches) for professionals in the seafood sector.
