Aeiforia is an academic SME of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (UCSC) of Piacenza (Italy). Founded in 2009, it provides services to agricultural and food companies, industry and companies working with chemical substances and technologies. Furthermore, Aeiforia works in several EU-funded projects mainly on environmental monitoring; environmental and human health exposure modelling; scientific dissemination and stakeholder engagement. Aeiforia has a special focus on the seafood sector being involved in 3 different EU projects to promote a sustainable seafood chain: ECsafeSEAFOOD-Priority environmental contaminants in seafood: safety assessment, impact and public perception – FP7-KBBE-2012-6-single-stage-311820; SEA-on-a-CHIP- Real time monitoring of SEA contaminants by an autonomous Lab-on-a-chip biosensor – FP7- OCEAN 2013.1; SEAFOOD TOMORROW – Innovative sustainable solutions for improving the safety and dietary properties of seafood, H2020-EU.3.2.5.

In the context of BAPSI project, AEIFORIA is the leader of the work package 2: Blue Academy. In particular, AEIFORIA is responsible for the design and implementation of the on-line part of the Academy. Aeiforia will coordinate the on-line part of the short courses, from the instructional design of courses to the development of the hosting platform. It also supports the scientific partners in the definition of the contents of their respective courses. Additionally, AEIFORIA is also the coordinator of the short course “Risk assessment and risk management in the seafood sector”.

AEIFORIA will be responsible for the set-up on an on-line Community of Practice, which will be open to participants, lecturers and members of the project.
